This is a full-time, in-person position at our downtown Denver, CO office location.
The Process Engineer lead’s primary responsibility is to lead engineering efforts. They will serve as a client‑facing representative of CANUSA EPC, requiring them to communicate directly with clients. Process Engineer Lead will also mentor intermediate and junior engineers, evaluate new technologies, establish CANUSA EPC design standards compliance with industry code, participate in quality audits, and participate in design reviews with customers and vendors.
They will, from time to time, be required to travel to customer sites, events, or training related to business activities for the Employer.
Accredited degree in a related field (e.g., chemical, petroleum engineering).
10+ years of related work experience (MS degree may account for 2 years).
Active Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in the United States.
Cryogenic, refrigeration, amine, and dehydration system experience.
Extensive technical expertise and experience in the oil, natural gas, and/or chemical industries.
Strong leadership qualities and ability to coach and mentor staff.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Strong analytical and decision‑making skills, and ability to perform complex engineering design evaluations and resolve issues.
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., API, ASME, DOT).
Experience with process simulation software (e.g., BRE Pro Max, Aspen Tech Hysys).
Ability to engage with multiple projects simultaneously and successfully manage multiple priorities and assignments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A valid driver’s license.
• A valid passport and eligible to travel to Canada.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop process engineering studies and basis of design documents, and author technical reports.
Develop new process simulation models and update existing models.
Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Heat and Material Balances (HMBs), and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
Perform Pressure Safety Valve (PSV) calculations and sizing, including relief header system analysis.
Define equipment specifications and conduct equipment sizing efforts.
Review vendor documentation and monitor vendor progress and conformity to design specifications.
Participate in project Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) meetings and address findings and recommendations.
Participate in project meetings, communicate effectively with project team members, vendors and customers.
Interface with customer team including engineering and operations personnel.
Work with, guide and support junior and intermediate engineers.
Conduct on‑site surveys to gather field data.
Support sales and business development efforts by contributing to project proposals and engineering estimates.
Participate in company‑wide and department meetings, communicate with supervisors and managers.
Understanding and practice of CANUSA EPC safety standards and quality standards while performing business‑related services.
LANGUAGE SKILLSOral communication—the individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrates group presentation skills and conducts meetings.
Written Communication—the individual edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively and is able to read and interpret written information.
