• Support global transmission projects, performing design engineering and analysis of transmission line work.
• Support large 345kV+ rebuild and greenfield projects, including trending technologies like HVDC and 765kV.
• Collect and assimilate data for engineering work, perform research, and prepare calculations to meet Black & Veatch and industry standards.
• Develop recommendations for equipment and materials, ensuring work stays within budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Assist with guidance to engineering team members, maintain positive client relationships, and support business‑development activities.

• Engineering Standards
  • Continually learn and remain current on departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and Black & Veatch policies and procedures.
  • Apply standards to assigned tasks as appropriate.
• Quality / Continuous Improvement
  • Develop knowledge and comply with Black & Veatch quality program for assigned tasks.
  • Support continuous improvement and change‑management efforts.
• Engineering Production
  • Prepare and verify less complex engineering deliverables.
  • Perform research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
  • Collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering work.
  • Prepare engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
  • Understand and adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Project Coordination
  • Seek out supervisor or project leadership for guidance on design details and interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Coordinate with others as assigned by supervisor or project leadership.

  • Focus on internal client needs while understanding external client interests and drivers.
  • May provide support for business‑development or pursuit activities.
• Knowledge Sharing, Innovation and Technology
  • Share current knowledge of latest technology and processes.

• Experience with utility‑scale projects.
• Experience with PLS‑CADD, PLS‑Pole, LPile, MFAD, Sag
  10, or Ultralite.
• Basic structural steel and concrete experience using 3D analysis and design software.
• Solid experience using Excel or similar spreadsheets and MathCAD design templates.
• Basic knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned discipline.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience.
• Must complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search) as required by law.

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion, job performance, and work assignments.
