We look to leverage the latest technologies, best‑in‑industry equipment, and up‑to‑date construction and safety practices to build a first‑class fiber optic utility construction firm in multiple markets throughout the US.
Lead CAD Drafter (Full Time) – Remote (Denver, CO)
Role and Responsibilities- Draft, coordinate surveys, and produce permitting drawings for aerial and underground fiber optic utilities.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high‑quality drawings under company engineering standards.
- Support the Project Manager and Drafting Manager in administrative tasks, quality control, and timeline communication.
- Create basemaps, as‑builds, Google Earth/KMZ files, GIS data, and AutoCAD drawings.
- Work directly with engineering staff and subcontractors on routing, cost estimation, and ROW construction drawings.
- Assist Design and Draft Manager in all CAD template creation.
- Review and finalize aerial and underground permit drawings.
- Ensure compliance with national UG and NESC engineering standards.
- Evaluate engineering scope and logistics for each project.
- Maintain timely completion of drafting deliverables.
- Assist in gathering engineering data to determine optimal routes and costs.
- Communicate drafting timelines and milestones to the project team.
- Perform quality control checks for drafts and drafting subcontractors.
- Assist VP of Engineering with engineering dates and design solution milestones.
- Minimum 4 years of drafting experience in the telecom industry.
- Proficiency in drafting for various states and jurisdictions.
- Strong understanding of utility construction processes and terminology.
- Experience with GIS practices and AutoCAD workflow.
- Excellent planning, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt engineering products and deliver milestones.
- Strong data entry and Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience with CAD template standards and as‑build drafting.
- Knowledge of Google Suite, Zoho, and project‑management tools.
- Process orientation and continuous improvement focus.
- Valid driver’s license.
- 4‑year degree, military experience, or 6 years of related work experience.
- Travel required (approx. 5 %).
- Salary range: $70,000 – $90,000 + 10 % bonus.
