Overview
At Horrocks, we believe the best work comes from companies with values. As an Engineer‑In‑Training for Roadway, you will support various transportation projects.
Responsibilities- Support Project Managers and Engineers with engineering design tasks for various projects
- Perform civil engineering design and associated calculations and interpret plans from other engineering‑related disciplines
- Apply technical expertise and be able to work with a project team on conventional and unconventional projects
- Perform independent research and delegate changing priorities
- Adhere to Horrocks safety standards to uphold a safe and efficient environment
- Work in a collaborative team environment and deliver accurate work that is error‑free
- Maintain a professional attitude and fulfill responsibilities with integrity
- B.S. in Civil Engineering – EIT
- 2-4+ years of experience in civil design is preferred. Entry‑level candidates will be considered
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam
- Have a strong sense of urgency and self‑initiative to meet client deadlines
- Prioritize work to meet various project requests and deadlines, answering to various engineers and project managers
- Be able to develop designs and documentation using Micro Station ORD or Autodesk Civil 3D or other design software (Micro Station ORD is preferred)
- Manage project data files from various sources
- Be proactive and responsive in effectively communicating with colleagues and clients, both in‑person and virtually/remotely
- Ability to travel and perform fieldwork on occasion
- Must be able to work independently with the ability to accomplish multiple tasks, with competing priorities
