Engineer-In-Training - Roadway

At Horrocks, we believe the best work comes from companies with values. As an Engineer‑In‑Training for Roadway, you will support various transportation projects.

• Support Project Managers and Engineers with engineering design tasks for various projects
• Perform civil engineering design and associated calculations and interpret plans from other engineering‑related disciplines
• Apply technical expertise and be able to work with a project team on conventional and unconventional projects
• Perform independent research and delegate changing priorities
• Adhere to Horrocks safety standards to uphold a safe and efficient environment
• Work in a collaborative team environment and deliver accurate work that is error‑free
• Maintain a professional attitude and fulfill responsibilities with integrity

• B.S. in Civil Engineering – EIT
• 2-4+ years of experience in civil design is preferred. Entry‑level candidates will be considered
• Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam
• Have a strong sense of urgency and self‑initiative to meet client deadlines
• Prioritize work to meet various project requests and deadlines, answering to various engineers and project managers
• Be able to develop designs and documentation using Micro Station ORD or Autodesk Civil 3D or other design software (Micro Station ORD is preferred)
• Manage project data files from various sources
• Be proactive and responsive in effectively communicating with colleagues and clients, both in‑person and virtually/remotely
• Ability to travel and perform fieldwork on occasion
• Must be able to work independently with the ability to accomplish multiple tasks, with competing priorities
