About the Role

CLP Engineering is seeking a SCADA Engineer IV to join the team of Engineering Professionals. Due to the nature of our work as a Federal Contractor, candidates must be a US Citizen. CLP Engineering (CLPE) is a full-service electric utility solutions engineering firm with more than twenty years of experience in electrical utility system ownership, upgrades, maintenance, and operations.

Position: SCADA Engineer IV

Location: Denver, CO – Hybrid Work Schedule

Seniority level: Mid-Senior level

• Configure, program, and deploy SCADA hardware and software components, including HMIs, RTUs, PLCs, and communication protocols.
• Ensure SCADA systems adhere to industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
• Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures for SCADA systems.
• Diagnose and resolve SCADA system malfunctions and software bugs, perform routine maintenance, updates, and backups.
• Analyze real‑time and historical data to identify trends and potential issues.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of SCADA system configurations, network diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Provide lifecycle engineering for the systems from concept, performance specifications, implementation and integration.
• Collaborate with engineering team members to enhance understanding of SCADA systems and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Maintain intermediate knowledge of power system protection and relaying schemes for electrical distribution systems.
• Act as main point of contact for projects and facilitate design/review processes.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their professional growth.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field from an accredited program.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a SCADA/Automation/ADMS Engineer or similar role, including two (2) years with substation/power system distribution SCADA systems.
• Proficiency with SCADA software platforms (e.g., Siemens WinCC, Wonderware, Survalent, SEL, OSI).
• PE license is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of industrial automation protocols (Modbus, OPC, DNP3).
• Familiarity with PLC/RTU programming and configuration.
• Understanding of network design and cybersecurity principles for SCADA systems.
• Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with customers, senior leadership, and junior team members.
• Knowledge of industry‑specific regulations and standards is a plus.

• Travel between job sites with 25% overnight travel expected.

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Required to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance.
• Valid driver’s license with a record that meets the CLP Fleet Policy.

• Salary range: $130,000 – $155,000 based on experience, plus eligible for participation in Short Term Incentive Plan.
• Excellent benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, and paid holidays.
