Field Service Engineer – Denver, BD
OverviewJoin our dynamic Field Service Team as a Field Service Engineer, where you will be responsible for troubleshooting, installation, preventative maintenance, and service repair of medical instruments. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is passionate about delivering world‑class service.
Responsibilities- Installation & Maintenance:
Provide support for installation, maintenance, modification, and repair of mechanical, electromechanical, and software‑based instruments. Tasks include installation, repair, calibration, cleaning, and testing of instruments. - Customer Relations:
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, review solutions, discuss needs, and ensure safe operational conditions. - Sales Support:
Actively support the sale of service contracts, collaborate with sales representatives and service team members on system configurations, upgrades, installations, and moves. Provide feedback to improve financial performance and generate service revenue. - Documentation:
Complete service administration activities promptly, adhering to ISO, FDA, and BD policies.
- Associate’s degree or technical school equivalent.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Customer support center experience or training.
- Military Bio‑Med experience.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing medical devices, electromechanical equipment, or scientific instruments.
- Ability to work within defined processes and methodologies with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
- Travel up to 50% of the time, including occasional overnight stays.
- Flexible working hours to service various customer locations.
- Lifting: up to 30–40 lbs. from floor to chest level, up to 70 lbs. push/pull, pack up to 30 lbs. on back for 1 hour.
- Tool Use: proficient with powered drills, screwdrivers, saws, manual sockets, wrenches, and extended use (8–10 hours/day).
- Physical: ability to sit, kneel, squat, bend, and stand repeatedly for 8–10 hours to assemble and repair instrument suites, climb ladders/stairs, and perform fine motor tasks.
- Respirator: may be required; must pass fit test and annual spirometry.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of mechanical, electromechanical, and software‑based instruments; diagnose and repair complex equipment.
- Problem‑Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently; innovative and analytical root‑cause analysis.
- Customer Service Orientation: Excellent communication, build positive relationships, and ensure customer satisfaction and safety.
- Documentation & Compliance: Detail‑oriented documentation of service activities, familiarity with ISO, FDA, and BD policies.
- Sales Support: Collaborate with sales representatives and service team, provide feedback to improve financial performance.
- Adaptability & Flexibility: Willingness to travel frequently, work flexible hours, adapt to different environments and customer needs.
- Personal Attributes: Strong work ethic, positive attitude, team‑oriented mindset, continuous learning.
Hourly: $21.60 – $33.60 USD (based on experience, education, and location).
