Job Summary

The Department of Communication seeks affiliates who can teach one section of Introduction to Public Relations to undergraduate students in the fall 2026 semester. In the future, there would be opportunities to teach other courses in the applicant's area of interest/expertise. Fall semester runs August 24 – Dec 13. The course will meet twice per week for 75 minutes each, Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:30‑4:45 pm.

Major

Duties and Responsibilities

Affiliate faculty are required to meet in-person with the class twice per week for 75 minutes and hold 1 hour of office hours per week. The course is fully developed and materials will be shared, but the instructor is welcome to make changes as they see fit.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Communication, Media Studies, Mass Communication or related field.
  • Availability for in‑person teaching at NW Denver Campus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Communication, Media Studies, Journalism or related field.
  • Experience with course design.

Work Schedule

Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:30‑4:45 pm, plus 1 hour on campus for office hours.

Benefits

Benefits‑eligible for workers' compensation and will receive 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.

Pay Rate

$3,225 per course
