School Design OverviewThe Performing Arts School on Broadway serves grades 7-12 and pairs rigorous academics with performing arts through an educational approach rooted in innovation, imagination, and intention. Students will have opportunities to master geometry through construction and set design, bring history to life on stage, study science through sound and music, and push their creativity through technical art. Students may also choose to participate in the Technical Theater/Theater Design Pathway, where they work in the studio, on the stage, or in the sound booth using sophisticated performance rooms and professional production equipment.

Qualifications- Colorado teaching license with an appropriate Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education and Social Studies endorsement required,
* or willingness to pursue endorsement or equivalent coursework*. - Background in bilingual education and/or language acquisition preferred.
- Strong understanding of the Colorado Academic Standards.
- Commitment to professional growth and reflective practice.
- Experience using formative and summative assessments to differentiate instruction.
- Ability to design standards-based learning experiences using effective instructional strategies.
- Experience in integrating second language development strategies into core content instruction.
- Experience with inquiry-based and project-based learning.
This position is a split assignment (.5 Multilingual Learner Teacher /.5 Social Studies Teacher). The teacher will provide English Language Development (ELD) services to identified multilingual learners while also teaching Social Studies courses aligned to the Colorado Academic Standards.
Multilingual Learner Responsibilities (.5)- Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide ELD services for identified students.
- Provide services through co-planning, co-teaching, push‑in support, and small‑group instruction (push‑in or pull‑out).
- Model best practices for language acquisition and support teachers in implementing effective strategies.
- Utilize current language acquisition and dual‑language research to support instruction.
- Design and deliver instructional plans based on the Colorado Academic Standards that meet differentiated needs of multilingual learners.
- Use formative assessments to guide instruction and support language development.
- Work with a growth mindset.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Required participation in Mapleton's Secondary Constructing Institute (course options will be provided throughout the year).
- Teach Social Studies courses aligned with the Colorado Academic Standards.
- Develop lesson plans that encourage critical thinking, authentic learning, and effective classroom management.
- Design and promote a rigorous culture of learning in the classroom and school.
- Establish and maintain two‑way communication with students and families about progress toward grade‑level expectations.
- Collaborate with colleagues across content areas to develop integrated instruction and improve teaching practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Mandatory Title IX training is required by the Colorado Department of Education and for all public‑school employees. This training addresses harassment, discrimination, and bullying.
- Two other mandatory training courses must be completed within 30 days of hire on your own time.
