Are you passionate about sparking curiosity and joy in young learners? Join our team as the Early Childhood and Family Program Coordinator and help create unforgettable experiences for kids and their grownups.
In this role, you will- Develop and facilitate play‑based learning while inspiring exploration and discovery.
- Design and lead engaging parent‑child classes, family events, and hands‑on gallery activities.
- Host and maintain the Discovery Zone, ensuring it’s a vibrant, welcoming space every day for guests and staff.
- Engage and activate the Discovery Zone and other early childhood spaces alongside the Educator Performers to facilitate mission‑aligned programming and shows.
- Collaborate with the broader team to develop training, facilitation materials, and evaluation systems to maintain program efficacy and quality.
You’ll collaborate with talented Gallery Specialists and Educator‑Performers to ignite a passion for nature & science in our youngest guests.
Job Class: Full Time
Hiring Range: $27.21/hr
Work Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday (Negotiable)

Essential Duties- Planning and Leadership:
Work with Manager to set strategy for early childhood programming. Build program plans and budgets. Coordinate teams to design, prototype, pilot, and refine programming. Onboard new staff to the Discovery Zone and create training materials in collaboration with teammates. - Content Creation:
Plan and develop programs and experiences that are audience centered, accurate and age‑appropriate, aligned with Museum mission, inclusive, and responsive to community research. - Program Operations and Logistics:
Lead and facilitate programming, and coordinate and host events. Ensure logistics are completed, maintenance and services are requested, and staffing is in place and supported.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience required.
- 3 years’ experience in program coordination/working with early childhood (ages 2‑5) required.
- Tuesday – Saturday schedule, with occasional evenings.
- Fantastic organization and communication skills.
- Commitment to building relationships with teammates and audiences.
- Curious and playful – a learner!
- Excited about a highly energetic and dynamic space.
- Motivated by guest‑centered learning.
- Bilingual.
