Job Description & How to Apply Below

Reign Christian Academy is a K-8 classical Christian private school, in its third full school year, with an enrollment of 50 students. As we plan for the 26-27 school year we anticipate opening an additional primary classroom, and will be hiring a teacher with a passion for these grades.

Reign is being sponsored by Hope in Our City, a non-profit faith-based organization that serves families in central Denver. Co-founders, Katie and Jordan Fischer, launched Reign so that families in the greater Ruby Hill neighborhood have access to an excellent education that is Christ-centered and student-focused. By providing a diverse spectrum of families with access to a private education that is both affordable and well-resourced, Reign ensures that students can pursue a future filled with education, employment, and lifelong opportunities.

Reign partners with families closely understanding that they are their children’s primary teachers and caregivers.

Reign is currently hiring teachers for kindergarten and first grade classrooms. There will approximately be 8-12 total students in this class in . Through its hybrid learning model, Reign’s teachers deliver class-wide instruction for half days from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm and in the afternoons teachers provide instruction one-on-one or in small groups to the students who decide to stay (

NOTE:

students are free to leave at 12:30pm if they and their parents prefer). For students who decide to learn from home in the afternoons, teachers partner with families to provide students with independent learning. Thus, full-time teachers will deliver whole-class instruction for 18 hours per week, then have additional time to serve students individually or in small groups, prepare lessons, manage instructional duties, participate in professional development, and chaperone community activities.

On Fridays, students are offered enrichment opportunities, with Reign faculty, in collaboration with outside instructors. Teachers are able to spend part of the day in lesson prep, staff meeting, professional development, etc.

Reign is seeking teachers with experience delivering a classical curriculum to students in grades K-8 and liberal arts degrees in such focus areas as humanities, history, economics, and political science from reputable colleges and universities. Previous teaching experience at high quality elementary and secondary schools is valued. Reign is seeking virtuous educators with a high level of integrity, enthusiasm, diligence, and teaching aptitude who feel called to specialize in the noble profession of teaching and forming young hearts, minds, and souls.

The right candidate will nurture learning communities that are academically rigorous, Christ-centered, and joyful. Self-reflective, humble, and faith-filled, she or he will be open to feedback and committed to continuously improving. He or she will model such Christian virtues as grace, forgiveness, hope, service, reverence, and magnanimity. The Head of School is seeking teachers to serve in this consequential role of educating and forming children.

Teachers serve as role models for each other and for students, are prepared to go to lengths to motivate every student to give their best, partner with families as their children’s first educators, and help to foster school-wide esprit de corps. Teachers serve under the Head of School’s direction, are members of a highly collaborative team, strive to give their best at all times, and take a get-it-done problem-solving approach to overcoming the inevitable challenges associated with school startup and community building.

Teachers are committed to providing their students with a holistic education that includes adventures into the mountains, field trips to arts and cultural institutions, and healthy habits of heart, mind, body, and spirit including nutrition, exercise, worship, and emotional health. They understand that forming strong faith and character is essential to lifelong flourishing in 21 Century America.
