Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary Science Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the wonders of science and develop critical thinking skills through engaging and interactive lessons. This full‑time position requires a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and promoting scientific inquiry among students in grades 7-12.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum guidelines.
- Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation in scientific exploration.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to support academic growth.
- Foster a culture of inquiry by encouraging students to ask questions, conduct experiments, and engage in hands‑on learning experiences.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that enhance the science curriculum.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance, and communicate progress to students and parents regularly.
- Stay current with developments in science education and incorporate relevant technology and resources into the classroom.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school community through extracurricular activities and events.
- Uphold school policies and procedures while promoting a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field;
Master’s degree preferred. - Valid Wyoming PTSB teaching certification in secondary science education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance teaching and learning.
- A passion for science and a commitment to fostering a love of learning in students.
- Ability to adapt to changing educational environments and embrace innovative teaching methods.
- Must pass background check per district requirements.
