About this job:
A substitute teacher (Daily Guest Teacher) fills in for regular teachers, following lesson plans, managing the classroom, and maintaining a productive learning environment. They adapt to different grades and subjects to support students' learning.
A Substitute Special Education Paraprofessional supports teachers in meeting the behavioral, social-emotional, physical and daily living needs of students with severe/profound disabilities primarily in school settings, but also in the community.
A Substitute Early Childhood Education Paraprofessional provides assistance with instruction, care and discipline, and preparation of instructional materials for three, four and/or five-year-old pre-kindergarten students as directed by the classroom teacher. Creates a supportive learning environment for students.
All substitute teachers and paraprofessionals are requested to work a minimum of 5 assignments a month.

* Guest Teacher/Substitute Salary:
* $23.302 per hour/$186.416 per full day for 1 or 3 year sub authorization
* $29.128 per hour/$233.024 per full day for a 5 year sub authorization, initial or professional teacher's license.
* Substitute Special Education Paraprofessional Salary:
* Competitive starting hourly rate of $22.824 per hour.
* Substitute Early Childhood Education Paraprofessional Salary:
* Competitive starting hourly rate of $21.787 per hour.

What You'll Do:
Guest Teacher/Substitute
* Organize students for effective instruction and learning while maintaining classroom control that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students.
* Motivate student learning and academic participation while ensuring the integrity of academic time.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the school Principal.
Substitute Special Education Paraprofessional
* Assists in conducting multi-media activities, general office and clerical tasks, record-keeping, computer operation, discipline, and other activities, as directed
* Provides daily living procedures such as toileting, diapering, feeding, and personal hygiene as trained
* May provide medically invasive (e.g., tube feeding, catheterization, suctioning) following universal precautions and as trained and directed
* Facilitates and supports accommodations and modifications specified on Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and teacher lesson plans
* Monitors and continues classroom activities when the teacher is engaged with other students
* Prepares and sets up educational materials
* Lifts and transports students using appropriate equipment and technique, according to District training
* Provides feedback to teacher(s)/supervisor(s) on individual students
* Monitors student activity in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, playgrounds, and other locations as required or requested
* May be under direct or indirect supervision of certificated staff while interacting with student(s) on the school campus
* Maintains the confidentiality of student information
* Completes training programs and attends meetings as required
Substitute Early Childhood Education Paraprofessional
* Prepares and sets-up educational materials and cleans-up classroom
* Presents subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers, using lectures, computer-based instruction, discussions, or supervised role-playing methods
* Assists individuals and small student groups, with basic skill development (e.g., shapes, letter and number recognition, social skills) and reinforces learning concepts presented by teachers
* Assists with field trips, parent meetings (including child care), and other classroom activities
* Communicates and coordinates with educational staff, students and parents about performance, disciplinary, and routine education issues
* Supervises students at assigned site and reinforces positive student behaviors and student related administration policies and rules
* Discusses and coordinates instructional efforts with teachers and educational staff
* Assists with child's basic needs (e.g. dressing, personal hygiene)
* Plans and evaluates program and student needs with the teacher daily and addresses specific student needs as identified by the teacher
* Maintains the confidentiality of student information
* Complies with program rules and regulations, including State of Colorado licensing requirements for Child Care Centers
