Job DescriptionThe CU Denver Business School is seeking a Lecturer in Accounting to teach courses for the 2025‑2026 academic year. The role will involve semester‑by‑semester appointments, with classes taught in person, hybrid, remote, or online modalities.
What you will do- Deliver instruction in Accounting at either the undergraduate or graduate level, typically 3 credit hours.
- Prepare balanced, rigorous lesson plans in advance of each class.
- Assess student progress in accordance with curricular objectives and outcomes.
- Report student offenses (plagiarism, cheating, absences, etc.) in compliance with program policies.
- Teach to a diverse student body, accommodating varying language and cultural backgrounds.
- Plan, establish, and implement teaching goals and objectives independently.
- Collaborate with faculty and support staff to maintain effective working relationships.
- Master's or terminal degree in Accounting, Finance, Payroll, Fiscal Reporting, Fiscal Management, Financial Forecasting, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- At least five years of significant professional, technical, or managerial experience in the discipline at the time of hire.
- Prior experience teaching in Accounting.
- Professional certification or licensure in accounting or an allied field (e.g., CPA, CMA).
- Expertise in Accounting and related disciplines.
- Demonstrated interest in mentoring and teaching.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Exceptional leadership qualities and independent initiative.
- Ability to work collaboratively with employees at all levels.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
- Hybrid work structure: remote or onsite as dictated by tasks and preferences.
Ability to sit for extended periods, stand and walk occasionally, reach with hands and arms, manipulate a keyboard and mouse, and possess good near vision for computer work. Minimal lifting; may involve bending or reaching to retrieve items.

Compensation and BenefitsSalary will be set within the range described above, based on internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training. As a part‑time position, the role is not eligible for overtime or benefits. Information on benefits programs is available through Employee Services.
