Overview
This position is for the 2026/2027 school year, starting in August 2026. Staff will report to summer PD in July 2026.
Approach to English Language ArtsRMP’s elementary teachers empower students with academic knowledge, social–emotional growth, and a love of learning. Build inclusive classrooms where students feel seen and heard, engage in rigorous, joyful instruction, foster discussion and collaboration, and support students in achieving big dreams.
ELA Teachers at RMP Will- Read and fall in love with the unit texts, cultivating a deep enthusiasm that will connect students to and engage them with the material.
- Write grade‑level exemplars of writing tasks, diagnose writing, and give efficient batch feedback to improve student writing.
- Be a scholar of the Common Core Standards, using them to define rigor.
- Be a scholar of the Science of Reading, using evidence‑based strategies to build vocabulary, comprehension, and a love of language.
- Champion our Accelerated Reading Goal of reading 2 million words, celebrating milestones and supporting student progress.
- Champion our Reading Academy program, teaching during blocks or staying abreast of student growth and supporting confident readers.
Take ownership of student outcomes by setting high expectations, using data to guide instruction, and ensuring scholars grow through rigorous teaching and timely reteaching. Build inclusive, relationship‑centered classrooms, collaborate closely with colleagues, support school‑wide initiatives, model RMP’s PEAK values, and remain flexible in a data‑driven environment.
Education Requirements- Bachelor’s or master’s degree (any subject)
- Complete CDE READ Act or CDE CLD training within the first year (45 contact hours).
- Pass a background check.
- Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States.

SalaryThis is a full‑time position with a salary range of $60,000 to $89,000, based on experience and qualifications.
