Job Summary
Southeastern Community College Center for Business (CBIZ) is seeking a part‑time Computer Instructor for non‑credit, lifelong learning classes available to community members and professionals. Classes are offered at Burlington, Mt. Pleasant, Keokuk, and Fort Madison locations during weekdays and weekends with daytime and evening sessions.
Essential Duties- Commit to the college’s mission, vision, values, and goals.
- Attend scheduled classes consistently.
- Greet and welcome participants.
- Teach in your area of expertise, ensuring students meet course objectives.
- Provide exemplary customer service and maintain a clean, inviting learning environment with a positive attitude.
- Communicate effectively with participants and Continuing Education staff.
- Clean and straighten classrooms before and after each class.
- Complete all required paperwork.
- Travel as required; be available evenings and weekends.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Pass a background check.
- Pass pre‑employment and random drug screening.
- Professional attitude and commitment to exceeding expectations with superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Passion for lifelong learning.
- Compliance with all safety rules and regulations.
- Patience and awareness of cultural diversity.
- Ability to work with students in a group setting and independently with classroom and hands‑on skills training.
- Responsible handling of problems and independent judgment in decision making.
- Willingness to complete paperwork, attendance, progress reports, and documentation.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint). Familiarity with Google Docs, One Note, One Drive, and similar programs is an added advantage.
- Teaching experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or Associate’s degree with relevant experience (only used for specific courses/areas).
Ability to carry and distribute class materials, and rearrange classroom as needed.
