# Engagement Program Art Instructor Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center - Denver, CO 80246## Description Seeking Engagement Infant Toddler Art instructor Come work in JCC Denver’s enriching, inclusive, and friendly engagement art space! This is a very fun position working in a busy art studio focused on infants through preschool age programming. JCC Denver seeks to hire an infant through preschool age Art Teachers to join our amazing team as soon as possible.

All classes will be for infants through preschool ages 6months – 6years old. Looking for someone well versed in
** process-based art
** who understands the social emotional needs of children and how to help foster growth and development through art. The majority of these are caregiver/child classes. In general, classes are long-term explorations of an art form giving students an opportunity to both learn and develop skills within multiple areas. Engagement classes run in 8-, or 6-week increments, or some once monthly based workshop programs.

The opportunity to host birthday parties and “schools out camps” for additional hours is also available.

* Education and Experience Requirements:

**
* ** Experience teaching art to preschool aged students is required**
* ** Experience working with infants through preschool aged children.
*** Priority given to early childhood education degrees or k-12 art and/or candidates with a teaching license or teaching license in progress.
* Experience with painting, drawing, mixed media, and a variety of other art mediums (ceramics studio on site)
* A thorough understanding of teaching preschool aged students, including successful lesson implementation from introduction through closing, scaffolding for mixed ages, etc.
* Excellent classroom management skills and techniques focused on community building and relationship building.
* Genuine enjoyment for and enthusiasm about working with children.
* Excellent people skills and enjoyment for being around people.
* Ability to multi-task efficiently and with a positive work ethic.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills with your colleagues and teammates
* Additionally, understanding our philosophy and values, understanding child development phases, and maintaining patience, calm, and a positive work ethic is of the utmost importance in our studio.

** 3 to 4 days/week (Sunday AM required)
**** 3 days: 9am-1pm
** Great multitasker with an attention to detail, hard-working and self-motivated;

Availability to work evenings and weekends.## Qualifications

Experience with community engagement, intergenerational engagement, LGBTQIA+ engagement, and Understanding of the Jewish Community and its constituents.
** Physical Demands and Working Environment:
** While performing duties, the candidate is often required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach, talk and hear. Candidate will often lift and or/move up to fifty (50) pounds.

Working outdoors for prolonged periods in sun and heat;
