Position Overview:
Lincoln County School District #1 is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Middle School Track Coach to lead and develop student-athletes in our track and field program. The ideal candidate will have experience working with middle school students and a strong understanding of track and field events. This is a great opportunity to inspire young athletes, foster a positive team culture, and promote sportsmanship, skill development, and healthy competition.
Key Responsibilities:- Help plan and lead engaging practices for all track and field events (sprints, distance, relays, jumps, throws, etc.).
- Teach fundamental athletic skills with a focus on safety, development, and proper technique.
- Help manage team logistics including meet schedules, transportation coordination, and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration.
- Supervise athletes at practices, meets, and during travel as needed.
- Foster a supportive and respectful team environment.
- Ensure compliance with school, league, and district policies.
- Preferred prior coaching or athletic experience in track and field (middle school or higher preferred).
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate and positively connect with middle school-aged students.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must pass a background check per district requirements.
- Valid PTSB coaching license or willingness to obtain within one year.
