ELA-S Early Childhood Education Teacher

Minimum Salary: $59,666 with standard benefits.

Duties:
Follow DPS curriculum to instruct students. The following job duties will be performed at the Elementary level:
Teach appropriate grade level standards-based curriculum in Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies and Personal Development. Follow DPS Literacy Program and/or other school/district approved curriculum. Utilize knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices including small group instruction to teach assigned courses. Demonstrate familiarity and adherence to the District’s Mission and Goals. Administer the Language Assessment Scale (LAS) test to English language learners.

Complete, maintain, and submit accurate records, forms and reports punctually, as required. Coordinate activities with the classroom paraprofessional, including daily planning and evaluation of student’s needs and progress. Work with diverse student population and staff. Attend and participate in required pre-service and staff development meetings. Conduct required parent-teacher meetings. Ability to speak, read, and write in both Spanish and English is inherent to the position.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in any field. Must possess a valid Colorado Department of Education Teacher’s License with appropriate endorsement in Early Childhood Education (0–8), or ability to obtain. Ability to speak, read, and write both in English and Spanish.
