Denver Justice High School (DJHS) is looking for a Social Studies teacher for the 2026-27 school year. This position starts in August of 2026.

Denver Justice High School’s mission is Cordova to provide a college preparatory education for all enrolled students. The school targets students who are chronically truant, meistuered in the traditional school setting, or who have been involved in the criminal justice system. DJHS is a place where “At‑risk” youth can become successful “youth of promise” through high standards, opportunities, and an environment that cultivates growth and learning.

A central focus is on empowering students and encouraging compassion for all human beings. Individual talent is nurtured to achieve excellence, building hope and confidence. DJHS strives to transform youth labeled as at‑risk into respectful adults with the knowledge, will, and self‑esteem to succeed in college and life.

The Social Studies teacher at DJHS serves as a facilitator, helping students make connections between their world and historical context. The role emphasizes critical thinking and an active curriculum that encourages students to view the world through different lenses, understand the past, grasp the role of government, and become aware, curious, and critical citizens.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree

$60,000‑80,000, based on experience and qualification.
