TLC SENIOR TEAM LEAD – TEACHER, INTERVENTION – K‑5TH GRADE

Denver Public Schools inviting applications for the role of Senior Team Lead, a teacher and instructional leader who will build the capacity of a team of teachers and model effective practice in the K‑5 grade levels.

About This Job

The goal of a Senior Team Lead is to build the instructional capacity of a team of teachers, developing a culture of continuous learning that maximizes staff and student morale and performance. Through distributive leadership structures in schools, Senior Team Leads collaborate with the Instructional Leadership Team to increase opportunities for feedback and growth from content experts, driving improved student achievement while building their own capacity as leaders.

Senior Team Leads spend part of their day teaching in their own classroom and part of the day supporting a team of teachers to deliver rigorous, culturally responsive instruction. As a content expert, they facilitate collaborative team time, provide 1‑on‑1 observation and coaching, and oversee LEAP growth and performance evaluations for each teacher on their team.

What You’ll Do
  • Teach high‑quality instruction in your own classroom.
  • Develop your team of teachers’ ability to deliver joyful, rigorous, and personalized instruction that leads to high academic achievement.
  • Facilitate collaborative team time.
  • Provide 1‑on‑1 observation and coaching to peers and facilitate the LEAP growth & performance evaluations, including hosting mid‑year and end‑of‑year conversations.
  • Contribute to a year‑long professional development plan and provide whole‑staff professional learning when relevant.
  • Collaborate with School Leaders and Team Specialists to align teacher supports with school‑wide instructional priorities.
  • Participate in extra‑duty activities as outlined in the teachers’ collective bargaining agreement (coaching, tutoring, or summer programs).
What You’ll Need
  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or in the subject areas for which you are applying. A Master’s Degree is required only for Concurrent Enrollment positions.
  • Have a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license. CDE Application Receipts are accepted for 90 days.
  • For ELA‑S (Spanish and English) positions, candidates must take the Spanish Language Proficiency exam or an acceptable Praxis II – Spanish:
    World Language 5195 exam with a score of 163 or higher.
  • At least two years of demonstrated teacher effectiveness through LEAP ratings or an equivalent growth and performance system.
  • Demonstrate essential skills as outlined in the Teacher Leader Scope and Sequence.
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and support all students to feel seen and heard with access to high‑quality education.
  • Live and work with a permanent Colorado home address.
  • Be able to meet the physical demands of the position, with or without accommodations.
