Job Summary

A leading educational institution focusing on the development and success of neurodiverse students in grades 6-12 is seeking a passionate ELA teacher for the new school year. The academy serves students with ASD, Anxiety, executive functioning challenges, and those identified as Twice Exceptional (2E), aiming for excellence in both academic and social spheres within a Universal Design curriculum approach.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging curriculum activities tailored to neurodiverse students, emphasizing inclusivity and individual strengths.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning atmosphere that encourages social and personal development.
  • Employ diverse instructional strategies to meet unique learning needs, promoting both academic excellence and social growth.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure student success and execute personalized education plans.
  • Evaluate and communicate student progress, maintaining effective communication with the team and families to support student well-being.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree, preferably with a Special Education endorsement or in a related field.
  • Possession of a teacher's license from any state, or the willingness to pursue licensure.
  • Experience in and ability to teach English Language Arts across grades 6-12.
  • Experience with or a strong interest in working with special needs students within a neurodiverse environment.
  • Adaptability in teaching methods to accommodate a wide range of learning disabilities and strengths.
  • A strong commitment to fostering a safe, nurturing educational environment for all students.
