JOB SUMMARY
:
Assist the program director to plan and implement the child care program. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. Assists director and/or assistant director to prepare and implement quality programming.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
. The subsequent duties outline the fundamental operations of the position and exemplify the nature of the tasks carried out. They do not encompass a comprehensive inventory of the obligations and responsibilities fulfilled in this role. The approximation of frequencies and time allocation percentages are flexible and subject to the requirements of the organization.   • Follows and enforces all Colorado Department of Early Childhood licensing requirements (Daily 15%)
  • Works directly and actively supervises and engages with students while they are present (Daily 15%)
  • Exhibits excellent communication with parents, students, school staff, district staff and co-workers (Daily 10%)
  • Maintains safe conditions for all students and staff (Daily 10%)
  • Promotes and markets the program for before and after care and full days (Daily 5%)
  • Attend and participate in professional development trainings as required by licensing and district (Daily 5%)
  • Assists to implement quality lesson plans for every day the program is in operation. May assist in creating lesson plans (Monthly 15%)
  • Assists with maintenance, proper storage, and repair of equipment and supplies (Monthly 5%)
  • Contributes ideas for enrichment activities, projects and program quality (Monthly 5%)
  • Creates and implements activities and field trips for full day programming (Monthly 5%)
  • Attend monthly program staff meetings as required by director (Monthly 5%)
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested (Daily 5%)

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
:
This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
. Criminal background check and fingerprinting required. Must be age 18 or over. Ability to work with children and have completed at least one of the following: (a) at least 3 months (455 hours) verified experience supervising 4 or more unrelated children 4+; (b) current early childhood professional credential level I or higher. Each year, June 1 through May 31, complete at least 15 clock hours of training.

Knowledge of most aspects of childcare, discipline procedures, leadership and management skill, decision making, problem solving, excellent written and oral communication, current CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
. Light work strength level (lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds). Works both indoors and outdoors. Typically a loud noise level. Occasional lifting, pulling, and/or pushing. Frequent bending, reaching, climbing. Visual concentration. Squatting. Working with others.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
. Experience working in the public sector. Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Racially conscious and culturally competent. Paid licensed child‑care program, teaching assistant/para‑educator, or licensed teaching experience.
