Job Summary

The Anderson College of Business and Computing at Regis University invites applications for the position of Affiliate Faculty member in the Computer Science Department. The instructor will teach CS390 – Principles of Programming Languages in person on the Denver campus during the Spring 2026 semester. The course meets twice weekly for 1 hour 15 minutes over 14 weeks. All course materials, assignments, and structure are fully prepared;

the instructor is responsible for delivering the content, supporting student learning, and maintaining a positive classroom environment.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach Principles of Programming Languages in person, following the provided syllabus and course materials.
  • Deliver clear, engaging instruction on programming paradigms, logic programming (Prolog), functional programming (Clojure), grammars, semantics, and memory models.
  • Assess student learning through existing assignments, exams, and activities (with optional adjustments).
  • Provide timely feedback and hold reasonable office hours (in person or virtual).
  • Maintain accurate grading and submit final grades on time.
  • Collaborate with program faculty as needed; no additional service duties required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated competency with at least one of the following: functional programming, logic programming, programming paradigms, compilers, or formal languages.
  • Ability to teach in person on the Denver campus.
  • Effective oral communication and commitment to undergraduate teaching.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related area.
  • Prior university-level teaching experience.
  • Familiarity with Prolog, Clojure, and formal language theory.
  • Experience designing or adapting computer science curriculum.
  • Interest in integrating modern tools (e.g., LLMs) into pedagogy.

Pay Rate

$3400 per term (If fewer than 7 students: $525 per student enrolled).
