Position Summary
Lecturer at University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver), a full‑time or part‑time (less than 50%) non‑tenure‑track teaching position beginning January 2026 in the Department of Economics.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as instructor of record for course(s) assigned.
- Deliver curriculum, design, and grade assessments and assign grades.
- Work with the department to ensure that the class meets pedagogical standards and is appropriately scaffolded in curriculum.
- M.A. or M.S. in Economics or related field.
- Ph.D. in Economics or related field.
- Experience teaching in a higher‐education environment in related field to teaching assignment(s).
- Ability to communicate in a positive and effective manner, across various modalities.
- Ability to effectively listen and share relevant information.
- Ability to establish and respond to, as well as, balance multiple work priorities, follow through, and meet established deadlines.
- Intentionally contribute to a respectful, equitable, positive, and professional workplace.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Understanding of the needs of a diverse student population.
- Strong commitment to student education and success.
- Experience in online or hybrid delivery.
- Occasional work during the evening and/or weekends may be required.
- This position follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely or from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.
- The ability to sit for extended periods, stand and walk occasionally, reach with hands and arms, use hands to manipulate a keyboard and mouse, and have good near vision for computer work; often requiring minimal lifting, but may involve bending or reaching to retrieve items from shelves or drawers.
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $1,704 per credit hour (undergraduate level courses) and $1,849 per credit hour (graduate level courses). The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
