Position: Teacher PreK 4 (Spanish)

Skills and Qualifications (Required)- Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university; preference for Early Childhood, Elementary Education, or Elementary Special Education.
- Minimum 2 years experience teaching early childhood education.
- Direct experience teaching in a PK–4 setting.
- Professional and instructional competency in Spanish; verbal competency in English preferred.
- Catholic faith orientation strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of Colorado child-care licensing regulations, Denver Preschool Program (DPP) and Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP).
- Experience supervising students within an early-childhood educational program.
- Knowledge of budgeting and fiscal matters, including experience managing and documenting a classroom or program budget.
- Maintain well-organized, complete, and confidential student records; track and document all program information required by licensing and accreditation organizations.
- Working knowledge of second language acquisition, bilingual and dual-language education, methodology and sheltered language instructional strategies.
- Authentic support of culturally rich and linguistically diverse learning communities.
- Working knowledge of technology and educational platforms used for teaching and learning.
- Willingness to learn new curriculums, technology systems, software, practices for dual-language acquisition and linguistically diverse learners.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment, develop effective interpersonal relationships, and communicate patiently and effectively with coworkers and families.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, adapt to changing priorities, manage time and meet deadlines.
- Successful completion of CBI and FBI background check.
- Maintain required hours of the work day and the class schedule.
- Verbal competency in English (preferred).
- 5+ years experience supervising students and teachers within an early-childhood educational program.
- Direct teaching experience with students in a PK–4 setting.
- Knowledge of a variety of curricula and assessment types, and current educational philosophies.
- Working knowledge of computer hardware such as computers, tablets, projectors, and smartboards.
- Experience teaching in a dual-language environment.
- Fully implement all components of dual-language instruction across all academic areas (teaching in Spanish).
- Ensure PK-4 program compliance with Colorado DHS licensing requirements and maintenance of licensing status.
- Ensure classroom and playground meet licensing standards and are ready for state inspections.
- Monitor and support progress of the program through the Colorado Shines rating system.
- Collaborate with the Principal and Admissions Director to determine and refine student recruitment and admission processes.
- Act as Spanish instructor for PK‑4 program and review all aspects of the instructional program.
- Create thematic units for literacy, math, social studies, science, and religion guided by essential questions and key vocabulary.
- Define enduring concepts, knowledge, and measurable outcomes for each unit, share syllabus with families and students, and evaluate at unit end.
- Implement instructional strategies that identify learning objectives and incorporate modeling and instruction in every lesson.
- Carefully plan and deliver lessons in environments defined by language of instruction and incorporating diverse perspectives.
