General Summary

This position is grant‑funded. Continued employment is contingent upon available grant funding. The Teaching and Learning Center supports the college’s commitment to providing our diverse community with the opportunity to gain a quality higher education by offering interactive professional development for all faculty and staff. The TLC encourages innovation and supports faculty in using research‑based andragogical best practices for the learner‑focused classroom.

The Immersive Learning Lab Manager reports directly to the Dean of Faculty and Curricular Development and is critical to the Teaching Learning Center’s work. The manager demonstrates immersive learning experiences while providing operational excellence and exceptional service. They possess a background in team leadership and the ability to learn and manage the technological aspects of VR. The manager will receive guidance from Dreamscape Learn’s Training & Support team in a “Train the Trainer” format and will learn the essential components of managing and operating a Dreamscape Learn Pod before its deployment.

Occasional evening and weekend support may be required.

Primary Duties Planning, Operations & Facility Management
  • Design and implement the Immersive Learning Lab.
  • Coordinate and standardize daily operations.
  • Oversee facility access and maintenance.
  • Manage scheduling and staffing of student operators.
  • Develop immersive learning expansion plans.
Academic and Project Support
  • Train and support faculty, staff, and students in immersive technologies.
  • Assist with VR development and project use of Dreamscape Learn.
  • Provide customer service to ensure positive guest experiences.
Technical Support and Equipment Maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and maintain VR equipment.
  • Manage RMA processes and vendor coordination.
  • Conduct regular testing and upkeep of VR pods.
Minimum Qualifications

Any equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Education (Minimum/Required) – Associate’s degree in Instructional or Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Education, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience (Minimum/Required)

  • At least 2 years of hands‑on technical support experience (VR, AV, IT, instructional technology, makerspace, media lab, etc.).
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience, including 1 year working in an academic or school setting.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Minimum/Required)

  • Curiosity and passion for exploring and implementing cutting‑edge technologies.
  • Passion for working with faculty and students.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate cogently orally, in writing, and online.
  • Demonstrated ability to work impactfully in a group setting.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to produce accessible documents, video, and audio.

Preferred Experience

  • Project management experience.
  • Experience working in a community college setting.
