Location:

Who We Are:
We design places where people love to be together.
Populous is a global design firm that began with a singular focus: to draw people together around the things they love, through experiences that capture all the senses, amplifying the atmosphere of excitement and pure joy shared in human moments.
We've designed and delivered some of the world's most memorable civic, sports and entertainment buildings, from iconic stadia to ground-breaking live music venues. Populous is where architects and designers of all kinds create moments bigger than ourselves. We offer the best of both worlds: the resources and impact of the design giants and the tightly knit atmosphere and growth opportunities of smaller firms.
What We Offer:
Professional & Personal Development Programs + Summer Hours + Hybrid Schedule + Paid Architect Licensure & Certifications Exams + Wedding Pay + Charitable Match Program + Market Leading Wellness Health and Welfare Benefits.
Who We Are Looking For:
At Populous, our Project Designers are visionary thinkers and hands-on creators who shape spaces where people come together for unforgettable experiences. In this role, you will lead and contribute to all phases of design - from conceptual storytelling to the development of elegant and buildable solutions for our clients.
You bring a refined understanding of composition, space, and human experience - crafting designs that are visually striking, conceptually cohesive, and emotionally resonant.
If you thrive in a studio environment that values curiosity, collaboration, and experimentation, and you're energized by working across diverse project types and disciplines, this role is for you. We're looking for someone who welcomes unfamiliar challenges, pushes boundaries, and continuously explores innovative ways to shape the future of design.
What Your Day Could Consist Of:
- Creating conceptual drawings and visual imagery.
- Preparing materials for and participating in project interviews and design presentations to clients, communities, public agencies, and other key stakeholders.
- Collaborative critique and refinement of early-stage design concepts to align with project goals.
- Developing innovative solutions for complex technical challenges from master planning and concept design through to construction documents.
- Designing, modifying, and reviewing design content and drawings adhering to industry standards and technical expertise.
- Coordinating technical drawings with external consultants to ensure project coherence and accuracy.
- Addressing and fulfilling client design and operational requirements with a focus on design excellence.
- Possibly contribute to marketing initiatives including website content, blog entries, videos, and articles for publication.
- Proficiency and working knowledge of design software including Rhino, Revit, and AutoCAD.
- Advanced sketching and freehand drawing skills, capable of producing quick and impactful sketches to effectively communicate and sell design concepts.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D visualization software, including Autodesk Revit/Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch Up, and Rhino3D/Enscape.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven communication and presentation skills with the ability to express information clearly and accurately.
- Knowledge of architecture design and operations, construction principles and understanding of generally applicable laws and regulations.
- Unyielding work ethic with demonstrated efficiency, flexibility, and a positive spirit.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team.
- Highly self-motivated and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Qualifications:
- An accredited professional degree in Architecture.
- Knowledge of parametric design tools and emerging AI-assisted workflows.
- 7+ years of professional architectural experience.
- Registered Architect with a current license.
- NCARB registration preferred.
- LEED certification is preferred.
- Travel will be required.
