Primary
Purpose:
Assist the project management team in the overall administrative and technical management of projects from bid to final acceptance. Gain skills and knowledge through training and mentoring to prepare for a career in construction.
Compensation $23-$25 per hour
Essential Duties:- Observe and supervise construction activities
- Gain understanding of construction means and methods
- Interact with owners, subcontractors, and management team
- Actively participate in weekly project meetings
- Understand and follow all company policies and safety procedures
- Assist the project manager in the acquisition and tracking of submittals and permits
- Assist management team in the quantity measurement of completed work
- Assist with field layouts and surveying
- Assist the project team in quality control and quality assurance inspections
- Aid the project manager in planning and scheduling
- Currently pursuing a career or degree in construction management, engineering or related field
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite
- Math skills to include the ability to determine areas and volumes and to have the ability
- Significant interest in Heavy/Highway Construction
- Strong organization skills and task oriented
- Valid Driver’s License and insurable driving record
