Field​/Project Engineer; Internship

Primary

Purpose:

Assist the project management team in the overall administrative and technical management of projects from bid to final acceptance. Gain skills and knowledge through training and mentoring to prepare for a career in construction.

Compensation $23-$25 per hour

• Observe and supervise construction activities
• Gain understanding of construction means and methods
• Interact with owners, subcontractors, and management team
• Actively participate in weekly project meetings
• Understand and follow all company policies and safety procedures
• Assist the project manager in the acquisition and tracking of submittals and permits
• Assist management team in the quantity measurement of completed work
• Assist with field layouts and surveying
• Assist the project team in quality control and quality assurance inspections
• Aid the project manager in planning and scheduling

• Currently pursuing a career or degree in construction management, engineering or related field
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite
• Math skills to include the ability to determine areas and volumes and to have the ability
• Significant interest in Heavy/Highway Construction
• Strong organization skills and task oriented
• Valid Driver’s License and insurable driving record
