Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Supervise and lead a team of construction workers, subcontractors, and laborers to ensure tasks are completed on time and to the highest standards of quality.
- Ensure all worksite safety protocols are followed and maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety practices, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring compliance with OSHA standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints
, drawings, and project specifications to ensure proper execution of construction tasks. - Assign tasks to workers based on skill level, ensuring the most efficient allocation of labor for each phase of the project.
- Monitor daily progress and productivity, ensuring project timelines are met and quality standards are maintained.
- Work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to ensure proper materials, equipment, and manpower are available to complete the work.
- Inspect work quality to ensure construction meets all specifications, codes, and safety standards.
- Handle any on-site conflicts or issues, addressing problems quickly and effectively to maintain project momentum.
- Ensure proper maintenance and use of construction equipment and tools.
- Track and report project progress
, including labor hours, materials used, and any deviations from the project plan. - Train and mentor crew members
, providing guidance to enhance skills, safety awareness, and productivity. - Assist in maintaining an organized and efficient construction site with proper storage, equipment, and materials.
- 5+ years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 2 years in a foreman or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes
, safety regulations, and quality control standards. - Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and project specifications.
- Ability to work under pressure
, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing worksite conditions. - OSHA 30-Hour Certification or equivalent safety training preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional trade or technical certifications a plus.
