Job Description & How to Apply Below

Peterson Consulting Group is actively hiring a Construction Superintendent with wet utilities experience in the Denver area to join a well-established, growth-oriented heavy civil contractor. This is a boots-on-the-ground leadership role for a superintendent who understands how civil projects are truly built — from mass excavation and underground utilities to final tie-ins and close-out.

This opportunity is ideal for a field leader who has led self-perform crews, partnered effectively with subcontractors, and taken ownership of complex civil scopes including storm, sewer, water, and earthwork on DOT, municipal, and private infrastructure projects.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead day-to-day field operations on heavy civil and wet utility projects, ensuring safe production, schedule adherence, and quality execution
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and internal crews to keep work moving and resolve field issues proactively
  • Manage and motivate foremen, operators, laborers, and subcontractors, driving productivity and accountability in the field
  • Oversee underground scopes including trenching, pipe installation, shoring, dewatering, backfill, and compaction
  • Champion jobsite safety, conduct daily huddles, enforce OSHA standards, and maintain a strong safety culture
  • Track production, quantities, and field progress while communicating updates, risks, and look-ahead schedules to leadership
What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent (construction management or related education preferred)
  • 5+ years of superintendent experience in heavy civil construction, with a strong emphasis on wet utilities
  • Proven ability to run self-perform work and manage multiple crews and subcontractors
  • Experience working on DOT, municipal, and infrastructure projects
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working with inspectors, owners, and internal leadership
  • Working knowledge of construction technology, GPS/machine control, and project management tools
  • Deep understanding of jobsite safety, means and methods, and best-in-class construction practices
Why Join This Team
  • Competitive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Flexible Time Off (FTO)
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Longevity bonuses that reward long-term commitment
