Position Summary
The Strategic Sourcing Manager will lead sourcing strategy, supplier management, and cost‑reduction initiatives across a diverse portfolio of direct materials. This role is ideal for a hands‑on procurement leader with experience in industrial manufacturing, automotive, or aerospace environments. The Strategic Sourcing Manager will drive supplier performance, optimize total cost of ownership, and support long‑term supply chain resilience for a growing, operations‑focused organization.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute category strategies across assigned commodities, ensuring alignment with operational and production requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers to support quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
- Lead contract negotiations, including pricing, service‑level agreements, and long‑term supply agreements.
- Manage supplier relationships with a focus on performance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct cost analyses, benchmark pricing, and drive cost‑saving initiatives without compromising quality.
- Partner closely with operations, engineering, and finance to support new product introductions, production schedules, and inventory optimization.
- Monitor market trends, material cost drivers, and supply chain risks to inform sourcing decisions.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and industry regulations.
- Lead RFP/RFQ processes and implement structured supplier selection methodologies.
- Support ongoing supplier audits and corrective action processes when necessary.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA or industry certifications a plus).
- 5+ years of strategic sourcing or procurement experience within industrial manufacturing, automotive, or aerospace
. - Proven experience managing direct materials, complex supply categories, or engineered components.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience drafting/negotiating supplier agreements.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, understand manufacturing processes, and collaborate with engineering teams.
- Demonstrated success driving cost reductions, improving supplier performance, and building robust sourcing strategies.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and strong Excel/data analysis capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
