ROLE with us What will you do?

A day in the life of a Manager, Supply Planning at Smartwool and icebreaker looks a little like this.

As a leader in the Supply Chain Operations team, this role will manage a team responsible for procuring supply to meet service and inventory objectives. You and your team will work to ensure on‑time deliveries from vendors and to customers, and you will develop and lead the execution of the Inventory Plan. Key partners will include Demand Planning, Global Supply Planning, Logistics, Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service.

  • Manage a team that will recommend and execute buys based upon demand inputs and other crucial supply planning criteria (current inventory levels, vendor & supplier capacity, minimums, and buy readiness).
  • Partner with Global Supply Planning and other regional partners to align consensus purchase plans and continually monitor demand needs and supply timing to identify issues and opportunities.
  • Adjust supply timing as needed to improve service to customers and/or meet inventory objectives.
  • Own communication of key issues and action plans with key stakeholders; manage the analysis, approvals and reporting for air requests and production acceleration.
  • Closely partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure delivery of current‑month financial objectives.
  • Build an annual Inventory Plan to support seasonal startups, monthly revenue flow and service goals.
  • Proactively drive and manage inventory dollars and days by region and channel to ensure a healthy mix of inventory.
  • Implement and document inventory planning processes to ensure appropriate controls and help drive a longer–term view of supply availability, taking into account demand needs by product type and any potential capacity or material constraints.
  • Lead key projects to evolve supply chain capabilities in support of the brand’s strategic initiatives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members.

  • Ability to understand, assess, & problem‑solve by leveraging technical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a cross‑functional team environment at varying levels.
  • Proven ability to multi‑task effectively.
  • Technically savvy (including expertise in Excel).
  • Experience with Supply Planning Systems (i2, SAP, BRIO, Business Objects, Power

    BI) a plus.
  • Experience in project planning and implementation.
  • Self‑starter with excellent follow‑through and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Location requirement: hybrid role, 3 days in office.

There are also a few skills that are not required but preferred.

  • APICS or Six Sigma Certifications are a plus.

Hiring Range: $ - $ USD annually.

Incentive Potential:
This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
