We are looking for a Procurement Category Manager to oversee large global categories, typically >$25M spend, from strategy development to execution.
GeneralDescription Of Role
The category manager focuses on medical/surgical supply spend and associated distribution partnerships, including PPE, tape, gauze, dressings, needles/syringes, and distribution for dialysis and surgical supplies. Expected outcomes include yearly savings targets of $1.0 to $3.5M, creative commercial outcomes with favorable terms, interdepartmental collaboration, and supplier performance management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Develop extensive market knowledge and deep understanding of assigned spend areas.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to extract key themes, determine root causes, develop creative solutions, and craft concise messages.
- Collaborate with internal business partners to understand demand and supplier trends; build effective relationships and influence peers.
- Manage supplier relationships, including supplier performance KPIs, capability development, cost and quality improvements.
- Identify and document supplier risk items; develop mitigation strategies and plans.
- Monitor compliance with DaVita’s product formularies and ensure contract terms are met.
- Balance multiple tasks and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Other Duties as Assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of SC/Procurement experience, or an MBA focused on contract analysis and negotiation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience leading and executing RFPs and competitive bidding processes.
- Strong computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word; experience with Tableau is valued.

- CPSM or equivalent Supply Chain certification is a plus.
