We are looking for a Procurement Category Manager to oversee large global categories, typically >$25M spend, from strategy development to execution.

General

Description Of Role

The category manager focuses on medical/surgical supply spend and associated distribution partnerships, including PPE, tape, gauze, dressings, needles/syringes, and distribution for dialysis and surgical supplies. Expected outcomes include yearly savings targets of $1.0 to $3.5M, creative commercial outcomes with favorable terms, interdepartmental collaboration, and supplier performance management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop extensive market knowledge and deep understanding of assigned spend areas.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to extract key themes, determine root causes, develop creative solutions, and craft concise messages.
  • Collaborate with internal business partners to understand demand and supplier trends; build effective relationships and influence peers.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including supplier performance KPIs, capability development, cost and quality improvements.
  • Identify and document supplier risk items; develop mitigation strategies and plans.
  • Monitor compliance with DaVita’s product formularies and ensure contract terms are met.
  • Balance multiple tasks and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.
Education and Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of SC/Procurement experience, or an MBA focused on contract analysis and negotiation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience leading and executing RFPs and competitive bidding processes.
  • Strong computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word; experience with Tableau is valued.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
  • CPSM or equivalent Supply Chain certification is a plus.
