Job OverviewThe Colorado Department of Revenue (DOR) is seeking a dedicated and versatile Administrative Assistant to join the Mail Services team. This on‑site role is essential to the department's daily operations, ensuring the efficient handling of both incoming and outgoing communications at our Denver Howard Building location.
What You’ll Do- Logistics & Transportation:
Safely operate state fleet vehicles (including vans or box trucks) to transport mail, supplies, and equipment along prescribed routes between USPS and various state agencies. - Administrative Processing:
Process returned warrants, research unclear addresses to ensure proper delivery, and maintain accurate tracking logs and reports for office operations. - Distribution Oversight:
Manage dock deliveries, perform security screenings, and coordinate the notification and pickup of packages for various divisions. - Customer Service:
Provide high‑quality support to taxpayers and internal staff by fulfilling requests for tax forms and booklets and providing official copies of tax returns.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II
- Two (2) years of work experience in a professional office setting conducting tasks such as interfacing with a variety of people, mail and package delivery, driving a state fleet vehicle between office locations in the Denver metro area, lifting boxes weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, using computer systems, scanners, printers, copiers, fax machines, and mailing equipment, entering confidential customer information into a program or database, and reviewing data for accuracy and completeness.
- Education and experience in an occupation related to the work assigned, equal to two (2) years.
- Valid Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
- Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 50 pounds regularly throughout an 8‑hour work shift.
- Experience working in a mail center or mailroom.
- Experience operating a postage meter.
- State experience in a mail processing role.
- Experience driving a box truck with a lift gate and/or a cargo van.
- Experience with data entry.
- Attention to detail.
- Customer service experience.
- Computer and math skills.
