Clerical, Office Administrator/ Coordinator, Data Entry
Hiring salary - $25.00 hourly This position is a temporary position working up to 20 hours per week
Definition:Provides general administrative and clerical support. Performs clerical work in assisting in daily operations. Must be able to work well independently and with teams, while providing excellent, respectful customer service and human relations skills, which support the City of Brighton's mission and values.
Supervision Received and Exercised:Receives direction from division manager or other assigned supervisor. This position does not supervise others.
Examples of EssentialResponsibilities and Duties:
- Operates computer equipment and a variety of programs.
- Operates applicable office equipment such as telephone, copier and fax machines.
- Performs a wide variety of general clerical work including word processing, data entry, maintaining files and records, verifying accuracy of information, accounts payable, purchase orders, basic bookkeeping and recording information.
- May pick up incoming mail, sort and distribute to department/division personnel.
- Handles incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Prepares various reports as required, such as statistical reports and special information requests.
- Performs other responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge of:
- Current office procedures, practices, policies and business English, spelling and general mathematics.
- Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to:
- Communicate well verbally and in writing.
- Differentiate between public and confidential information.
- Perform tasks independently, with minimal supervision.
- Work as a team member.
- Prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Comprehend and accurately carry out oral and written instructions.
- Concentrate on more than one activity at a time, with interruptions both by telephone and in person.
- Work in a variety of office locations.
Graduation from High School or equivalent supplemented by courses in general office procedures and one year clerical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements:Must possess hand/eye/foot coordination adequate to operate a variety of office equipment and to operate a vehicle. Ability to talk and hear in person and by telephone. Must possess the ability to speak in a manner that is easily understood by co-workers.
Special Requirements :- Possession of a valid Colorado driver's license with safe driving record.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
