Position Summary

The College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences at the University of Denver seeks a part-time Events & Stewardship Specialist to support the planning, coordination, and execution of academic, recruitment, alumni, and donor-facing events across the College. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this role works closely with CAHSS departments and campus partners, including Advancement, Enrollment Services, and Conference and Event Services, to deliver high-quality, inclusive events that support student enrollment and academic success, alumni engagement, and philanthropic goals.

This is a hybrid position, with on-campus presence, outside of normal working hours, required for event support. This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

Essential Functions

Collaborate with CAHSS department chairs, faculty, and staff to plan and deliver events that support academic programs and enhance the student, alumni, and donor experience.

Including, but not limited to:
  • Lead logistical planning and on-site execution for CAHSS events, including venue coordination, vendor management, event design, setup, food and beverage selection, audiovisual and technology needs, and accessibility considerations.
  • Serve as an events liaison to CAHSS Advancement partners by supporting alumni, donors, and stewardship as aligned with College and departmental engagement strategies.
  • Assist with Advancement event preparation and follow-up, including coordination of guest lists, timelines, event promotion/materials, and post-event documentation.
  • Partner with CAHSS colleagues to support college and DU-wide events, such as graduation celebrations, Careers in the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, Journeys to DU and Fridays at DU.
  • Coordinate with DU Conference and Event Services and other campus units to ensure compliance with University policies and smooth event delivery.
  • Maintain clear communication with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, alumni, donors, vendors, and campus partners.
  • Support inclusive, accessible, and welcoming event environments for audiences.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of event processes, documentation, impact measurement, and timelines.
  • Other related duties as assigned by the director.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
  • Two years of experience supporting events, communications, or administrative operations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education or nonprofit environments
  • Experience supporting alumni engagement, donor relations, or Advancement activities
  • Experience working in large, multi-departmental organizations
Work Schedule

This is a hybrid position, with on-campus presence, outside of normal working hours, required for event support.

Hourly Range

The hourly range for the position is $30.00-$35.00. The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range.
