Payroll Assistant/Revenue Clerk
Location: The Salvation Army Southern California
FLSA Status: Part-Time, non-exempt
Reports To: Senior Payroll Specialist
Schedule: Varies – up to 29 hours per week
Rate of Pay: $24 per hour
Closing Date: 10/10/2025
Benefits- Sick leave – 1 day per month, 12 days per year (pro-rated for part-time)
- Vacation – 10 days per year (pro-rated for part-time)
- Pension Plan – after one year of continuous service (requires 21 hours per week)
- Payroll:
- UKG-Pro Timekeeping – manage employee access, assist with system updates, verify time and approvals, import time into UKG-Pro.
- UKG-Pro – make employee changes, maintain deductions (Short Term Disability, Aflac, Health & Dental, Flex, child support, etc.), process manual checks, update personnel database, ensure payroll processed by deadline.
- Receive employee data files, verify accuracy, prepare banking files, calculate total payroll per unit, initiate payroll transfers.
- Communicate with HR, Corps, Employees, THQ, Corps Officers, and UKG-Pro.
- Prepare government surveys, Social Security prior employment requests, garnishment information with Ceridian and unemployment insurance for Montana.
- Generate reports for THQ and keep audit files.
- Revenue:
- Input and review assigned units’ income with proper coding, recognition, and organization.
- Data entry of income into Shelby.
- File and maintain revenue records.
- Reconcile Payroll Transmission account.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as required.
- Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration (or equivalent experience).
- Two years of computerized accounting experience.
- Understanding of GAAP, labor laws, and payroll tax obligations.
- 10-key by touch proficiency.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a time‑sensitive manner.
- Professional presentation and confidentiality.
- Working knowledge of Ulti Pro or similar HRIS.
- Microsoft Office
365 proficiency. - Effective use of integrated database applications.
- Supportive of The Salvation Army’s mission.
- Reflects high standards of the organization.
- Valid driver's license (minimum age 21). MVR processed annually.
- Background check – biennial.
- Physical ability to lift 25 pounds, maneuver, operate telephone, and use computer.
