Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting
Our client, a well‑established and high‑performing restaurant group in the Greater Denver Area, is seeking a Senior Restaurant Accountant to modernize, elevate, and professionalize their accounting function. This is an onsite role with flexible hours, working in a collaborative, inclusive, and low‑drama environment where high standards and accountability are core values.
As the Senior Restaurant Accountant, you will play a key role in building structure, improving systems, and ensuring financial accuracy across multiple locations. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in hospitality operations, enjoys partnering with managers, and loves bringing order, clarity, and efficiency to daily and monthly workflows.
Key Responsibilities (Time Allocation) 1. Implement & Optimize Systems, Processes, and Compliance (40%)As the Senior Restaurant Accountant, you will lead the rollout, improvement, and governance of accounting frameworks across the group.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing weekly/monthly reporting structures
- Creating systematic review checkpoints
- Leading operational “by-the-numbers” reviews
- Ensuring compliance across all financial workflows
You’ll build capability across the organization by:
- Developing SOPs, checklists, and training programs
- Coaching managers on coding accuracy and best practices
- Auditing transactional work and reinforcing accountability
The Senior Restaurant Accountant will oversee daily financial health, including:
- Bookkeeping, payables and receivables
- Daily sales and deposit balancing
- Month-end reconciliation and close
- Trouble-shooting discrepancies between locations
365, Toast & Connected Systems (10%)
You will:
- Diagnose and correct system disconnects
- Improve workflows between POS, accounting, payroll, and inventory platforms
- Serve as the internal expert for R365 and Toast integrations
- Deep restaurant/food service transactional accounting experience
- Strong proficiency with Restaurant
365 and Toast - Hands-on experience implementing processes or systems
- Exceptional compliance focus and attention to detail
- Proficient in Excel
- Multi-unit / multi-entity experience
- Background in systems training
- CPA or advanced degree
