Senior Accountant

Carter Mackenzie is partnered with a PE-backed firm headquartered in Denver to fill a Sr. Accountant role on their M&A and integration team. They have a national presence with operations in over 20 states. They are continuing to grow both through acquisition and organically. This person will report to the Controller, who is one of those unique leaders who understands how to bring her people together to meet the financial and operational goals of the company, while making sure the team has balance.

What you will be doing:

• Support accounting for acquisitions and business combinations
• Assist with purchase price accounting, including opening balance sheets
• Assist with all aspects of the month-end close process.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements
• Completing account reconciliations and providing variance analysis
• Collaborating among departments to share accounting data and improve efficiencies.
• Support the integration of acquisitions, including opening new entities, setting up chart of accounts, and consolidations as needed
• Help mentor junior team members.

What you need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
• CPA or CPA eligible
• Strong Accounting background and a thorough understanding of US GAAP
• Experience with ASC 805 preferred
• Proficient with ERP systems (Sage Intacct, Net Suite, Oracle, etc)
• Comfortable working out of the Downtown Denver office (4 days/wk)

Salary: $100-125K + bonus (local candidates only)
