Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Property Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $75,000 to $90,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting records for assigned properties and related entities.
  • Maintain the general ledger by creating entries reconciling bank accounts and reviewing activity for accuracy.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations and analyze results against budgeted income and expenses.
  • Monitor property bank accounts for transfers mortgage payments and owner distributions and prepare related schedules and reports.
  • Complete sales and use tax filings state and local compliance reporting document reviews and other assigned projects.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field with an MBA or CPA viewed as a plus.
  • 3+ years of property accounting experience with familiarity in property management systems helpful.
  • Demonstrate strong Excel skills and the ability to prepare reports analyses and reconciliations with accuracy.
  • Possess experience in accounts receivable and corporate accounting considered beneficial.
  • Follow procedures communicate effectively and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
Qualifications:
  • Maintain organized financial records ensure compliance with internal controls and support audits when needed.
  • Investigate discrepancies research activity and reconcile accounts to maintain accurate reporting.
  • Prepare supporting schedules for monthly quarterly and yearly reporting requirements.
  • Monitor bank activity for each property and ensure transactions are recorded correctly and timely.
  • Work collaboratively with the controller and team members while completing additional duties as assigned.
