The Corporate Accountant plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of Intrepid Potash’s financial records. This position is responsible for core general ledger activities, cash processes, account reconciliations, and audit support while serving as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders across the organization.
Success in this role is defined by strong ownership of assigned accounting areas, sound judgment, and the ability to consistently deliver accurate, timely financial information.
Key Responsibilities & Performance Expectations:General Ledger & Close Support
- Own assigned areas of the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare and post journal entries as part of the monthly close process.
- Review balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure proper classification and recording.
- Manage daily cash application activities within the Salesforce accounts receivable subledger.
- Resolve customer credit balances and support preparation of customer statements.
- Assist with accounts receivable aging reviews and collection support as needed.
Cash Receipts & Disbursements
- Support resolution of cash disbursements that fall outside standard subledger processes.
- Provide cash‑related reporting and information to internal stakeholders.
Account Reconciliations & Analysis
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and related analysis.
- Investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
- Maintain clear documentation supporting account balances and activity.
Fixed Assets & Audit Support
- Perform accounting activities related to corporate fixed assets.
- Assist in the preparation of schedules and documentation for audits and quarterly reviews.
- Support audit requests by providing accurate, well‑organized financial information.
Internal Controls & Cross‑Functional Partnership
- Assist in the design, documentation, and implementation of internal controls.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned accounting areas.
- Collaborate with department managers, accounting colleagues, and other teams to resolve issues and support business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Experience in progressively responsible accounting roles, including monthly close activities and financial statement analysis
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills
- CPA preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Hands on proficiency of Microsoft Office applications required with advanced knowledge of Excel

Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Incumbents must be able to perform work that requires typing, reading, communicating, sitting for prolonged periods of time, standing, and walking.
The employee:
- Is regularly required to use hands to type, touch, handle, or feel
- Is frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms
- Is occasionally required to walk and climb or balance
- May occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
In the event that the incumbent visits an operations worksite, personal protective equipment including but not limited to head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame‑resistant clothing may be required.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Targeted salary range for this position is $74,000-$85,000 annually. Salary commensurate with experience and skill set.
