Overview
A growing, multi-entity organization is seeking a detail-oriented Ecommerce Accounting Specialist to manage daily transaction flow, inventory processing, and full-cycle accounting across several business lines. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, close‑knit environment and enjoys owning processes in a fast‑moving, technology-driven accounting function.
As the Ecommerce Accounting Specialist, you will support multiple ecommerce brands, ensuring accurate reconciliations, smooth system integrations, and reliable financial reporting. This position offers visibility, impact, and the opportunity to help shape new processes as the business expands.
Key Responsibilities & Time Allocation
1. Daily Transaction Sync & Reconciliation – 50%
• Monitor and reconcile high-volume ecommerce transactions (approx. 2,000/day).
• Verify that Shopify and Quick Books Online integrations are functioning correctly.
• Review daily deposits, payment processor activity, and electronic transaction flows.
• Identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly to maintain accurate financials.
2. Inventory Imports & System Syncing – 25%
• Import inventory into Quick Books Online and ensure proper syncing with Shopify.
• Automate transaction flows where possible to reduce manual journal entries.
• Maintain accurate inventory records across multiple ecommerce entities.
3. Inventory Processing & Vendor Coordination – 25%
• Process inventory receipts and coordinate with vendors on invoicing and payments.
• Validate electronic workflows and ensure proper documentation.
• Support month-end close activities, including inventory reconciliations and journal entries.
4. Full-Cycle Accounting Support (Across Multiple Entities)
• Manage accounting tasks for several ecommerce companies, including two established brands and two newly launched ventures.
• Perform credit card reconciliations, month-end tie-outs, and account reconciliations.
• Assist with cross-training and support broader accounting team needs.
Minimum Requirements
Must-Haves
• Hands-on proficient experience with Shopify
• Hands-on proficient experience with Quick Books Online
• Excel skills including VLOOKUP and XLOOKUP
• Basic reconciliation and data validation tasks
• Experience with ecommerce transaction flows and reconciliations
• Ability to manage inventory accounting and high-volume electronic transactions
• Comfort working onsite full time in Denver
Nice-to-Haves
• Experience with inventory reconciliations in Excel
• Exposure to multi-entity accounting environments
• Familiarity with journal entries and month-end processes
Compensation
Full-time salary range: $60,000–$70,000 USD
