About the Opportunity
A well-established and growing construction organization is seeking a Corporate Accountant to join its finance team. This role is critical to maintaining accurate financial reporting across multiple projects and business units while supporting operational leaders with timely, reliable financial data.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who understands the unique financial workflows of the construction industry — including job costing, WIP reporting, retainage, and project-based accounting.
ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day corporate accounting functions and general ledger activity
Prepare and maintain Work in Progress (WIP) schedules
Perform job cost analysis and project financial tracking
Handle retainage tracking and construction billing support
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare financial statements and internal reports for leadership
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany transactions
Support audit preparation and ensure compliance with accounting standards
Collaborate with project managers and operations teams on budget vs. actual reporting
Assist with process improvement and accounting system optimization
3+ years of accounting experience within the construction industry
Strong understanding of job costing, WIP, retainage, and percent-complete accounting
Experience working with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, Foundation, CMiC, or similar)
Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
Ability to work cross-functionally with operations and leadership
CPA or CPA-track is a plus, but not required
Stable, respected construction organization with a strong project pipeline
