We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing organization. This role is hands-on and plays a key part in the month-end close, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and transactional accounting activities. The ideal candidate has a solid accounting foundation, strong attention to detail, and is eager to grow within an operational accounting environment.
Key Responsibilities of Staff Accountant:General Ledger & Close Support
Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and reclasses
Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Maintain accurate supporting schedules and documentation
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including coding, review, and issue resolution
Assist with revenue and expense recognition in accordance with company policies
Monitor and research variances and unusual activity
Help ensure consistent application of accounting procedures
Assist in preparing internal financial reports and management schedules
Support ad hoc reporting, reconciliations, and special projects
Work closely with senior accounting team members to analyze financial data
Identify opportunities to improve processes, documentation, and efficiency
Partner with cross-functional teams to gather information and resolve questions
Support system enhancements, reporting improvements, and audit requests
Assist with internal and external audit requests
Maintain documentation to support internal controls and compliance efforts
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
1–4 years of accounting experience, including public accounting or relevant industry experience
Solid understanding of basic GAAP principles
Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities
Proficiency in Excel; experience working with large data sets a plus
ERP or accounting system experience preferred (Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or similar)
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Eager to learn and grow within an accounting function
Reliable, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
