POSITION
Property Accounting Analyst (Full Time, Exempt)
COMPENSATIONPursuant to Colorado regulations, if this job is performed in Colorado, the salary range is $70,000-$85,000 with an opportunity for a bonus. Eligible to participate in the company benefits plan. We offer health, vision, dental, and pet insurance. SUMMARYAs a Property Accounting Analyst, you will play a crucial role in the financial operations of our property management portfolio. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure accurate and timely recording of property-related transactions, perform a detailed analysis of financial data, and support the overall property accounting function. Working closely with the accounting team, you will contribute to the financial success of the organization by providing valuable insights, conducting financial audits, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES(Including but not limited to)
- Collaborate with the accounting and property management teams to ensure accurate and timely collection and reporting of property-related financial data.
- Review and analyze property financial data as part of the month-end close cycle including revenue, expenses, and operating costs.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of property-related accounts, ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial data.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation, explanations, and reconciliations related to property accounting.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard and ensure financial data accuracy.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports, presentations, and analysis as required by the ownership and management teams.
- Identify opportunities to streamline property accounting processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the accuracy of financial reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and automation initiatives.
- Participate in system implementations and upgrades related to property accounting systems.
- Participates in Cardinal U training as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience, 3-5 years in property accounting, real estate accounting, or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and property accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems. Experience with property management systems is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
