A rapidly growing organization is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to lead the revenue accounting function. This is a highly visible role partnering closely with Finance, Operations, and IT, with meaningful impact on revenue accuracy, reporting, and process improvement.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys the intersection of revenue accounting, systems, and problem-solving and wants clear ownership rather than a narrow slice of the close.
Key Responsibilities- Own end-to-end POS revenue accounting across multiple locations
- Lead daily, weekly, and monthly sales reconciliations, ensuring alignment between POS systems, bank deposits, third-party delivery platforms, and the general ledger
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Investigate and resolve variances between POS data, cash/credit activity, and financial records
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, IT, and Finance to ensure data accuracy and integrity
- Support GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition compliance
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Drive process improvements, automation, and best practices related to POS revenue
- Provide reporting and insights on sales trends and revenue performance
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience with revenue or POS accounting exposure
- Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition
- Experience with POS systems and ERP platforms
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
- Strong analytical, reconciliation, and communication skills
- Clear ownership of POS revenue accounting (not a fragmented function)
- High transaction volume with real operational complexity
- Cross-functional visibility and influence
