The Senior Corporate Accountant is a full-time role based in the Denver Metropolitan Area with a flexible, hybrid schedule. In this role, the individual will oversee accounting functions, maintain general ledgers, prepare financial statements, and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations. Key responsibilities include managing account reconciliations, handling month-end and year-end closures, analyzing financial data, and assisting in audits. The role also involves developing internal controls and collaborating across teams to support accurate reporting and strategic initiatives.
- Build accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and Industrial Physics global accounting policies.
- Prepares consolidation journal entries, eliminations and/or variance analyses for financial statements and other financial information.
- Maintain accurate schedules for key account balances, including goodwill, intangible assets, debt, lease accounting (ASC 842) and equity.
- Research new accounting standards, document findings, and recommend practical updates for adoption.
- Assist in various business combination, valuation, and technical accounting workflows.
- Designs templates for global, company-wide requests for information to support the company’s financial reporting and coordinates the information gathering on a company-wide basis.
- Support external annual audits, sales tax, and income tax return filings through the preparation of schedules and supporting documentation.
- Lead and contribute to ad hoc projects in response to evolving accounting and business needs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in General Ledger management, Financial Reporting, and Month-End/Year-End Closures
- Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills in routine and complex tasks
- Able to evaluate current processes and make recommended process enhancements or improvements
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written, across all levels of the organization.
- Keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate and timely financial data.
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple complex tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment at one time
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Participate in problem-solving and improvement teams.
- Must be flexible and available for overtime where necessary, particularly during month-end close, as well as the ability to effectively work in the office or remotely (hybrid available).
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required. CPA preferred. Relevant work experience to be considered.
- Experience working with various ERP and accounting software, including Net Suite, Quick Books, Excel (Power Query), AP Automation platforms, Avalara, and Planful will be given preference.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and IFRS/IAS, complex financial statements, and accounting principles.
- A minimum of 5-years prior general accounting experience or 3 years of public accounting experience required.
- Experience working in a manufacturing accounting environment preferred.
Target base compensation range of $80,000 - $95,000. Compensation package to be determined by the candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
