Controller for Nonprofit Organizations

Responsibilities- Serve as the outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple nonprofit clients.
- Transform nonprofit client financial departments to help them meet their mission.
- Financial reporting for management and board decision‑making and presentations.
- Recommend and implement improvements to accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance policies and procedures, supporting client strategy and best practices.
- Transactional activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable (revenue recognition and billing), payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, month‑end close, and maintaining work papers.
- Analysis and data visualization, budgeting and forecasting.
- Grant management, allocations, and funder reporting.
- Prepare for and manage annual audit.
- Provide client and staff training opportunities.
- Passionate about working in or supporting nonprofit organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
- 5‑7 plus years accounting experience.
- Experience working in a remote environment preferred.
- Ability to manage and lead multiple clients, work independently, and be responsive promptly.
- Demonstrated strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with multiple GL packages, especially Quick Books, and electronic bill pay systems.
- Non‑profit accounting, public accounting experience, and/or consulting experience is a plus but not required.
- CPA certification is a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

- Standard 35‑hour full‑time work week with eligibility for paid overtime.
- Full part‑time positions available.
- Competitive base salary $90,000 to $125,000 for a 35‑hour week (non‑exempt position).
- Annual base salary may increase with overtime and bonuses.

- Paid time off: 4 weeks (∼100 hours) at start, plus additional based on tenure.
