Privately Held Investment Management Firm – On-Site• Full-Time About the Role
Our client is a privately held investment management firm seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to join their team. This role is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing while also providing accounting and HR-related support across a diverse portfolio of entities. You’ll play a key role in ensuring payroll accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely financial reporting in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Process payroll accurately and on schedule in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Calculate, remit, and report payroll taxes, with holdings, and garnishments.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including onboarding, terminations, compensation changes, bonuses, and deductions.
- Prepare payroll registers, journal entries, and payroll-related reports.
- Support period-end, quarter-end, and year-end payroll filings.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, and regulatory notices.
- Administer payroll-related benefits, insurance, and workers’ compensation reporting while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Perform full-cycle accounting tasks such as bank reconciliations, daily deposits, cash transfers, and accounts payable processing.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including account reconciliations and variance commentary.
- Assist with ad-hoc reporting and special projects, including quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant payroll and accounting experience.
- CPP and/or FPC certification preferred.
