Our client is a privately held investment management firm seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to join their team. This role is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing while also providing accounting and HR-related support across a diverse portfolio of entities. You’ll play a key role in ensuring payroll accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely financial reporting in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

• Process payroll accurately and on schedule in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Calculate, remit, and report payroll taxes, with holdings, and garnishments.
• Maintain and update employee payroll records, including onboarding, terminations, compensation changes, bonuses, and deductions.
• Prepare payroll registers, journal entries, and payroll-related reports.
• Support period-end, quarter-end, and year-end payroll filings.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, and regulatory notices.
• Administer payroll-related benefits, insurance, and workers’ compensation reporting while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Perform full-cycle accounting tasks such as bank reconciliations, daily deposits, cash transfers, and accounts payable processing.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including account reconciliations and variance commentary.
• Assist with ad-hoc reporting and special projects, including quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant payroll and accounting experience.
• CPP and/or FPC certification preferred.
