A growing organization in the Denver area is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to play a key role in supporting its real estate and operational accounting functions. This position will have meaningful ownership over property, lease, and fixed asset accounting across a large, multi-location portfolio and will partner closely with Finance, Real Estate, and Operations teams to ensure accurate reporting and scalable processes.
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced accountant who enjoys working close to the business, taking ownership of key accounting areas, and contributing to process improvement as the organization continues to grow.
Responsibilities- Own property, lease, and fixed asset accounting for a multi-location portfolio
- Manage capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliations for fixed assets
- Oversee construction‑in‑progress (CIP) activity and ensure timely capitalization
- Support lease accounting activities, including rent accruals, straight‑line rent, and compliance with ASC 842
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules for month‑end close
- Partner with Finance, Real Estate, and Operations to ensure accurate financial reporting and data integrity
- Support audits by preparing documentation, schedules, and responding to auditor requests
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and stronger internal controls
- Assist with maintaining compliance related to property licenses and regulatory requirements
- 4–7+ years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on property, fixed assets, or lease accounting
- Experience working in a multi‑entity or multi‑location environment
- Strong understanding of GAAP and fixed asset accounting principles
- Experience with ERP systems (Net Suite strongly preferred)
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- Strong communication skills and comfort partnering cross‑functionally
